ENTERPRISE ZONE & COLORADO CHILD CARE TAX CREDITS

PIH is one of the few approved Enterprise Zone activities in Colorado Springs, and that has significant meaning to you, our supporters. Any cash donation to PIH of $500 or more provides the donor with a Colorado State tax credit for 25% of the amount of the contribution.  This is not a "tax deduction" – it is an actual credit, which allows the donor to reduce Colorado State tax due by $125 in return for the minimum $500 contribution. (Donors of in-kind contributions valued at $500 or more receive a 12.5% Colorado State tax credit).

Those taking advantage of the Enterprise Zone tax credit will need to make their checks payable to the El Paso County Enterprise Zone Administrator. In the memo section of the check, note “Partners In Housing”. Be sure to include your telephone number and tax identification number or social security number (individuals) on the check and send the check to:

Partners In Housing
455 Gold  Pass Heights
Colorado Springs, CO 80906

Partners In Housing will deliver the check to El Paso County with the necessary paperwork, and the donor will receive a receipt from the county for the amount of the donation. Please note that El Paso County charges a 3.5% processing fee for Enterprise Zone donations.

Donations made to the PIH Colorado House Child Enrichment Center (CEC) qualify for a 50% Colorado Child Care Tax Credit. Checks written for this credit should be made payable to Partners In Housing. In the memo section of the check, note "CEC". There is no minimum or maximum donation for this credit. Checks may be sent to the same address as above.

If you have any questions, please contact our Development Director Erin or call (719) 325-5835.

GIFTS IN KIND -- FURNITURE, CLOTHING AND HOUSEHOLD ITEMS

Many homeless families come in to our program with nothing but the clothes on their back, or whatever possessions they could fit in a suitcase or car. In-kind donations are essential to helping these families rebuild their lives. To see a list of our most current donation needs, please click here to view our "wish list"

Preferred donation drop-off times are Tuesdays from 12noon to 3pm and Thursdays from 9am to 12noon.  If you cannot drop off your donation during this time, please call Sherri at (719) 325-5830 to schedule another delivery time.

Partners In Housing has formed a collaboration with the Springs Rescue Mission in which they will accept and store donated furniture and large appliances. They will also accept mattresses and box springs in like-new condition. PIH families will then be able to go to the Mission warehouse to pick out needed furniture. Springs Rescue Mission will gladly pick up donations. Call (719) 632-1822, press 2, then press 5, to make an appointment. Or you may drop off items on Mon-Fri. 9:30am-4pm. The warehouse is located downtown on West Las Vegas St. (near the intersection of W. Las Vegas and S. Sierra Madre.)

OTHER GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

United Way

You may donate to PIH through your employer’s United Way campaign. For over 80 years, Pikes Peak United Way has been committed to improving the lives of all those who live in the Pikes Peak region. The Pikes Peak United Way is local and autonomous: 100% of the money you donate through the United Way goes directly back to local charities.

Combined Federal Campaign

If you are a federal employee, this is a wonderful way to support PIH. The mission of the CFC is to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee-focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all. You may make a donation through the CFC during the campaign season--September 1st to December 15th. Make your donation to the United Way and your gift will benefit PIH.  Our CFC number is 85554.

Memorial/Tribute Gifts

Contribute to PIH in memory of someone who has died or in honor of someone on an important occasion. We will send an acknowledgement of the contribution to you and to the person you specify. Please include their name(s) and address(es).

Remembering PIH in Your Will

Remember PIH in your will and leave a lasting legacy!  Naming Partners In Housing as a beneficiary is simple and has lasting effect.  Estate gifts are extremely important to the financial foundation of PIH. We are honored by the foresight and generosity of donors who make the gift of their lifetime by naming PIH in their will, trust or retirement plan.

Legacy giving does not take great wealth. Naming PIH as a beneficiary of a will or trust is a simple way to make a gift that otherwise may not have seemed possible. For more information please contact our Development Director Erin or call (719) 325-5835.

Matching Gifts

Did you know that you may be able to double your contribution to PIH? Many companies match their employees’ donations to charitable organizations. Contact your company’s HR department to find out if your donation is eligible!
