What is Partner In Housing’s Housing Counseling Mission?

Partners In Housing (PIH) strives to educate area consumers on the many aspects of home buying and home ownership, and to help them make better home buying decisions.  All housing counseling services provided by PIH are FREE and open to the public!

HOUSING COUNSELING

PIH has been a HUD-certified Housing Counseling Agency since 2007.  We are here to help increase the local rate of home ownership through outreach and counseling, and to provide much needed information and education to potential home buyers in our area.

Today with low interest rates, many in our community are convinced that home ownership is within their reach but are fearful of taking on that responsibility due to the large number of foreclosures and questionable loans that were done in the past few years. It has become evident that many potential homeowners never begin the process because of lack of information, misinformation or the presence of real or perceived purchasing obstacles. In order to successfully overcome these factors, PIH will provide the public with much needed information, education and problem solving help. The end result from this service will be more home owners in the Colorado Springs area and a strengthening of our community and regional economy.

We want to educate the public and help the foreclosure rate subside in our community.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT PATH TO HOME OWNERSHIP

Throughout the Colorado Springs area, many people would like to own their own home, but do not know how to begin the home buying process. Some common questions from families and individuals seeking home ownership are:

  1. What are the steps involved in purchasing a home?
  2. What loan programs are available to first time and non-first time homebuyers?
  3. What credit information do lenders need when making the loan decision?
  4. What can I do to prepare for home ownership?
  5. What services are available to assist me in preparing for home ownership?
  6. How do I access these services?
  7. What price of home would I qualify for?
  8. How can I get through the maze?
  9. How can I avoid foreclosure once I am a home owner?

Partners In Housing can provide the answers to these questions and provide valuable information for potential home owners of ALL income levels.
